The subject of the first markover is Louisiana.gov, the official website of the State of Louisiana. The site serves an important function as a comprehensive portal to various state services, particularly in the wake of the recent hurricanes. It's also a good example of how a markover can make a site more useful.

Adelle Abney Designs

The designers at Adelle Abney Designs are the rare, refreshing type who appreciate both excellent visual design and web standards and accessibility. After a few years in the business, however, their markup was beginning to show its age with leftover tables and image maps from a bygone era.

Meanwhile, Infocraft just didn't look good at all: I do many things, but graphic design is not one of them.

It was a perfect match.

Firefox Counter

Firefox has been downloaded many times!

The original Firefox Counter met with rave reviews and a good ol' fashioned slashdotting. Not satisfied that I had wasted enough bandwidth, I decided to go a step further: host the counter feed on my server (rather than instructing people to mirror the feed on spreadfirefox). And that stroke of madness was the inspiration behind Firefox Counter 2.0.
